French Toast with Raisins

Ingredients

  • 2  eggs
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) sugar
  • 1 ml (¼ teaspoon) salt
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) ground nutmeg
  • 60 ml (4 tablespoons) Yoplait Source Stirred Vanilla Yogurt 
  • 4 slices of raisin bread
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons or 4 knobs) butter
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) icing sugar
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) ground cinnamon
  • To taste maple syrup

Preparation

  1. Beat the eggs, sugar, salt, nutmeg and yogurt together with a fork.
  2. Soak the bread in the mixture.  Cook in melted butter until the bread is golden brown on either side.
  3. Sprinkle with icing sugar and cinnamon.  Top with maple syrup to taste.

Tips and Tricks

Suggestion:  Serve with blueberries and banana slices.

Tip:  For a homemade touch, grind some cinnamon sticks into powder and add a little sugar.
