What is fresh cheese?

Both fresh cheese and yogurt are made in a similar way. Unlike regular cheese (such as cheddar), fresh cheese does not have to be aged to develop its firm texture and flavours. The texture of Yoplait Minigo fresh cheese is similar to that of yogurt because it contains bacterial cultures only of a different kind, whish is why we call it 'cheese' and not 'yogurt'.

It's also why cheeses like Yoplait Minigo are mild and creamy. They don't stay fresh as long as other types of cheese because they hold more humidity.

What's the difference between fresh cheese and yogurt?

The main difference is due to the microorganisms of fermentation. For example, a 60 g serving of Yoplait Minigo provides 15 % of the Recommended Daily Intake of calcium while a 100 g serving of yogurt with fruit provides 10 %. Yoplait Minigo has a firmer and smoother texture than stirred yogurt and is sweet, making it an ideal choice for kids.
