In addition to the bacteria used for producing yogourt (Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus), YoptimalTM contains two active probiotic cultures:
BB-12® Bifidobacterium lactis and LA-5® Lactobacillus acidophilus. These two bacteria have probiotic properties, which, when consumed regularly, could contribute to healthy tract flora and global health (8, 17). Each 100-g serving of YoptimalTM contains more than 1 billion probiotics of both of these probiotic cultures.

    These bacteria remain active and work in the digestive system. The bacteria of YoptimalTM, BB-12® Bifidobacterium lactis and LA-5® Lactobacillus acidophilus, can survive the "hostile" conditions of the digestive system (17). These cultures are quite resistant to gastric enzymes and bile, and they can survive the passage through the intestinal tract.

    It has been clinically documented that this combination of active probiotic cultures BB-12® Bifidobacterium lactis and LA-5® Lactobacillus acidophilus is safe for human consumption and has benefits on the tract flora (17, 18).
